Abido Cumin Powder is pure ground cumin seed - earthy, nutty and essential to falafel, hummus, kibbeh, mujaddara, fattoush dressing and lentil soup, as well as curries, chilli, tacos and couscous. Abido Spices has been Lebanon's best-known spice house since 1950 - still family-run, grinding and blending at its own ISO 22000-certified factory in Naameh, just south of Beirut.
Ground fine for smooth hummus and dressings. A 50g foil sachet holds about 20 teaspoons and keeps its oils far longer than an open jar.
How to use it
- Hummus & dips – Add 1/2 tsp to a batch of hummus or baba ghanoush and finish with a dusting.
- Falafel & kibbeh – 1-2 tsp per 500g chickpeas or meat with coriander and 7 spices.
- Lentils & rice – 1 tsp in mujaddara, lentil soup or spiced rice.
- Curries & chilli – Fry 1 tsp in the oil with onions as the base for curry, chilli or tacos.

Is it roasted?
No - it is plain ground cumin; toast it briefly in a dry pan for a deeper flavour if you like.

No - 100% cumin.
How much in hummus?
About 1/2 teaspoon per 400g tin of chickpeas.
