About this product
Abido Cinnamon Powder is finely ground cinnamon bark - warm, sweet and woody, the spice that finishes Lebanese rice pudding (riz b haleeb), meghli, sfouf, baklava and sahlab, and seasons savoury stews, hashweh rice and kafta alongside allspice. Abido Spices has been Lebanon's best-known spice house since 1950 - still family-run, grinding and blending at its own ISO 22000-certified factory in Naameh, just south of Beirut.
Milled fine so it disappears into batter, milk and dough. A 50g foil sachet is around 20 teaspoons - more than a supermarket jar, at a fraction of the price.
How to use it
- Puddings & desserts – Dust over rice pudding, meghli and sahlab; 1 tsp in sfouf or cake batter.
- Hot drinks – Stir 1/4 tsp into coffee, hot milk, tea or porridge.
- Savoury – Add 1/2 tsp with allspice to hashweh rice, stuffed vegetables and lamb stews.
- Baking – Cinnamon rolls, biscuits, apple crumble - 1-2 tsp per batch.

Is this Ceylon cinnamon?
Abido's pack is labelled simply 'cinnamon' and we do not claim Ceylon - it is the robust, full-flavoured cinnamon used across the Middle East.
