Ground Caraway is ground caraway seed – warm and earthy with a gentle anise note. It is the classic spice in Middle Eastern meghli (caraway pudding) and in rye bread, sauerkraut and goulash.
Use it in meghli, rye and soda breads, sauerkraut, cabbage and potato dishes, goulash, sausages, cheese dishes and spice blends.

How to use it
- Meghli – Simmer ground rice, sugar, water and 1–2 teaspoons of caraway, then top with nuts and coconut.
- Breads – Add 1 teaspoon to rye or soda bread dough.
- Cabbage & potatoes – Season braised cabbage, sauerkraut or potatoes with a pinch.

A Lebanese spiced rice pudding flavoured with caraway, cinnamon and anise.
Is it the same as cumin?
No – caraway is a different seed with a sweeter, anise-like flavour.
