Greenfields Cinnamon Sticks are whole cassia cinnamon sticks with a warm, sweet, gently spiced aroma – made for infusing and long, slow simmers. Greenfields is a London-based herbs and spices brand that has supplied quality ingredients since 1982.
Add them to mulled wine, cider and hot chocolate, rice pudding and poached fruit, or to biryani, pilau, curries, stews and tagines, then remove before serving.
How to use it
- Mulled wine – Simmer 1–2 sticks with red wine, orange, cloves and sugar – do not let it boil.
- Rice & curries – Add a stick to the oil at the start of cooking biryani, pilau or curry.
- Desserts – Infuse in milk for rice pudding, or in syrup for poached pears.

No – they are cassia, the harder, thicker-barked variety with a bold flavour.
