Madina Arabic Coffee is a lightly roasted, finely ground Arabic coffee for brewing traditional Saudi-style gahwa (qahwa) at home – the golden, fragrant coffee of the Gulf, served black in small finjan cups alongside dates. Choose Plain to spice it your own way, or Saffron & Cardamom, ready-blended with real saffron and cardamom for the classic Gulf flavour.

Brew a pot in a dallah or saucepan for guests, Ramadan iftar and suhoor, Eid, weddings and family gatherings, the majlis and everyday coffee breaks; serve with Madina dates, baklava or ma’amoul. A lighter, aromatic alternative to espresso or Turkish coffee. Each 200g pouch makes around 12–15 pots.

How to enjoy it

• Taste & aroma – Light, golden and fragrant – much gentler than dark-roast coffee. The Saffron & Cardamom blend adds warm cardamom and the delicate floral note of saffron.
• How to brew – Bring about 500ml of water to the boil, stir in 2 tablespoons (around 15g) of coffee and simmer gently for 10–15 minutes. Take off the heat, let the grounds settle for a minute, then pour the coffee into a dallah or flask, leaving the grounds behind. For the Plain blend, add ground cardamom (and a pinch of saffron) in the last few minutes. Adjust strength to taste.
• How to serve – Pour a little at a time into small finjan cups and serve with dates. Traditionally enjoyed black, without milk or sugar.
• Great for – Guests and hospitality, Ramadan, Eid, weddings and gatherings, the majlis, Arabic restaurants, cafés and shisha lounges, and as a gift with dates.

Which blend should I choose?

Saffron & Cardamom is the classic Gulf-style gahwa, ready to brew. Plain is just the coffee, so you can add your own cardamom, saffron or cloves and make it as light or as spiced as you like.

How much coffee do I use?

About 2 tablespoons (15g) per 500ml of water, simmered for 10–15 minutes – adjust to taste. A 200g pouch makes around 12–15 pots.

Is it the same as Turkish coffee?

No – Saudi-style Arabic coffee is lightly roasted, simmered and poured off the grounds, giving a lighter, golden brew. Turkish coffee is darker roasted and served with the grounds in the cup.

Does it contain caffeine?

Yes – it is made from coffee and contains caffeine.

What allergens does it contain?

None of the 14 major allergens – the ingredients are coffee, saffron and cardamom. Always check the pack label.

How should I store it?

Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Once opened, reseal the pouch tightly or transfer to an airtight container to keep the aroma fresh.
