What is mukhallat?
Mukhallat means a blend – a traditional style of Arabian perfume that mixes several notes, typically oud, amber, musk and florals.
What is oud?
Oud (also spelled oudh) is agarwood – a fragrant, resin-rich wood that is the signature scent of Arabian perfumery. Natural agarwood is rare and costly, so most modern oud perfumes use an oud accord rather than pure agarwood oil.
What is musk in perfume?
Musk is a soft, clean base note used in perfumery to round off and carry a fragrance. Almost all musk used in perfume today is synthetic – often called “white musk”.
