Baking Powder is a raising agent that gives cakes, muffins, scones and pancakes a light, even rise.
Use it in cakes, cupcakes, muffins, scones, pancakes, waffles, biscuits, ka’ak and quick breads.

How to use it
- Cakes – As a rough guide, about 1 teaspoon per 100g plain flour – follow your recipe.
- Pancakes – Add 1–2 teaspoons per 200g flour for fluffy pancakes.
- Mix well – Sift with the flour so it is evenly spread through the mixture.
Good to know
Is it the same as bicarbonate of soda?
No – baking powder already contains an acid, so it works without extra acidic ingredients.
Is it gluten free?
Some baking powders contain wheat flour – please check the pack label.
Which size should I choose?
Smaller packs for home cooking, 5kg for restaurants, caterers and bulk buyers – the bigger the pack, the lower the price per kilo.
